Patrick Orson About me

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at CIRGET and teaching at McGill University.

After completing my BA in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, I took Part III. I then worked for a PhD as a student of Professor Andrew Ranicki at the University of Edinburgh, where I studied Surgery Theory and high-dimensional knots.

From January 2015 I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Durham University, working with Dr Andrew Lobb on the EPSRC grant New homotopy-type invariants of knots. In November and December of 2016 I was a visitor at the Hausdorff Research Institute for Mathematics in Bonn, participating in the Junior Hausdorff Trimester Program in Topology.

From September 2017 I will be a Visiting Assistant Professor at Boston College.
